I was just recently in a little Indie show here in Ottawa - Wed by Hand - this past Saturday. I met some great people in the industry and there was a really good turn out. Here are some pictures from M Photography...my new favorite wedding photographer in Ottawa, of my booth from the show. Melanie has a great eye and sense of style while being really fun and kinda crazy...in a totally good way!!

Gold Plates in Ottawa

My brother, Matthew Carmichael, is the executive chef for both Restaurant18 and Social in the Ottawa market. Matt competed in the Gold Plate Culinary Championship here in Ottawa this past October and I was fortunate to do the florals for their table. Matt took the gold for Ottawa...then the bronze in the Canadian Culinary Championship held in Vancouver in November. Matt won silver in the past 2 years. In addition to the gold this year...Matt also won the Epicurean Award for Chef of the Year. Can you tell how proud I am??? Here are some pictures of the florals.

Wedding Show 2010

WOW - has it really been since September that I blogged?? I am so bad. I have done lots since then, but most recently was the Ottawa Wedding Show at the Westin this past weekend. What a great show and awesome turnout. Here are some pictures of my booth. "Colour" was the theme this year!

This past week-end was the wedding of my friends Michael & Wendy. They had their ceremony at their little church and then the reception back at their house under a tent. I was their event coordinator and floral/decor designer. So much fun! Here are some pictures from the days leading up to the wedding, and the actual wedding day.
